Scrubs has launched New Zealand's first journal for RMOs. The journal will be released each quarter and delivered free via hospitals. Request your copy by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The broad aim of the RMO Review is to involve, inform and inspire RMOs about a wide range of issues affecting life as an RMO and healthcare in general. It is hoped that the Review will promote thoughtful discussion and debate within the RMO community.
This inaugural publication focuses on the topical and important theme of ‘leadership’. A definition of leadership is both elusive and contentious. Leadership is personal and should be continually challenged; therefore, definitions of leadership will evolve. A particularly visionary definition comes from Alan Keith, who states that leadership “is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen”. At a time of uncertainty and great challenge, the need for leadership in healthcare across all levels is unprecedented. It is increasingly recognised that RMOs are well placed to make a valuable contribution to the future direction of the healthcare system in which they function. We’re excited to bring you a great selection of thoughtful, thought-provoking and inspirational articles from a diverse range of healthcare professionals. This Review also features an RMO survey to help capture the thinking and feeling of the community.
